Rachel and I went to Freshman Orientation this past Wednesday and Thursday. Two long days of information overload! I gained all sorts of knowledge on what the school has to offer and how things work and am more excited than ever about Rachel having the opportunity to attend UT.(btw, this is their best Freshman class ever with an average GPA of 3.7 and an average ACT score of 28) I think deep down, Rachel is excited too, all though she doesn't really act as if. Maybe nerves (I have caught her saying that she wishes that she was still a high school senior), maybe the boyfriend that is not going to the same school...who knows. The only things she seems excited about are decorating her dorm room and being in a sorority (two VERY exciting things none the less).
Speaking of Greek Life, there are 13 sororities (average size, 140 members) on UT's campus! That is a far cry from the 6 (small) sororities where I went to school. She needs to have a recommendation from an alumnus from each of the 13 chapters. We have a few family members/ friends that are going to write recs for Rachel, but there are still many that we need.....so I am reaching out and would appreciate any help that we can get!
She moves in August 15 and classes begin August 19.
